The OhMyGodShe'sSellingThemFerNuthin Anne Elser Book Sale!

Hi Friends,

This Saturday from 10-2:00 I will be selling my entire stock of hand-bound journals at Atlanta Progressive Preschool’s Alternative Craft Fair & Bazaar .

My prices will range from $10.00 to $120.00 and everything in between.
There are many small books great for stocking stuffers from $10-$25 and few new and grand books for their original price.

Why are they this low? Change and newness and movement!
I am ready to move into a new series of work in 2011 and in preparation for the next year of wonderfulness, I am letting go and moving on, making that space for change.

I won't be offering these prices on line - only for those who come to the fair in person. If you see something you like, I'll reserve it for you before Saturday.
Below are more details about all the participating artists and fun activities for kids and families. The APP is a great place that knows how to have fun.

To see more of the books I'll have at my table, please follow this link.

Fairy Dust

Tomorrow morning I spend at the Atlanta Progressive Preschool's finishing a Rachel Carson quote I'm painting on the office wall. I left it the way you see here on Friday morning. As I painted, we decided that the type was flat with just black lettering, as pretty as it was. It still needed a punch. Talk of faries came up and before I knew it, the white accents turned into pixie dust and Rachel Carson's wisdom began to shimmer to life.

This has been so much fun.

Part of the school's philosophy is to have parents donate 15 hours of their time to the school in the medium they feel most able to share. You can do laundry, gardening, art projects, stories, playtime with the kids, volunteer at festivals, etc. I decided to volunteer in the Studio (art room) and to create an APP cookbook. Last year was to paint this quote on the wall. The school invites you to bring your gifts to the open table. Their "diversity" is a strength.

When you choose a school for your child, choose the one that's also a good fit for you and for your family. You can never go wrong.

Anton's 2010 School Pictures

Anton entered the Atlanta Progressive Preschool's program midway this school year. We had just begin to recover from a bad experience at his previous school, the Kingswood School and stumbled upon the philosophy of the Reggio Emilia Approach at the APP. FASCINATING and wonderful in so many ways - it's structured in a way that fosters a child's love of learning by keying in on their own natural instincts, interests and creative choices. Rather than giving each child a watered down approach to subject matters like math, science, language, PE, etc., it allows for each child to explore these subjects and skills in the medium and approach they choose. It's how we successful and happy adults build our own careers, by following our bliss. The ER approach offers the same blissful discoveries to flourish for children, who are not so very different than we are.

It is with the celebration of the above, that I share with all of you Anton's APP school pictures! Such a dear in a dear, dear place. We love you APP and can't wait for next year.
