Tiny Books & Boxes

This little photo album you've seen before, but not the little box I made for it. Really completes the set!

Casual White Chocolate Calligraphy

This was done in a masculine and casual style in a beautiful leather long-stitched book. I did the calligraphy for the chapter headings. Title page was done with white Dr. Martins India Ink using a pointed pen on black stock. Inner pages were chapter headings done in black ink.

Did this for a fellow designer with superb taste! The baby's photo sits right in the middle of all that delicious flourishing.

More Custom Letter Boxes

In white for a lovely client whose great to work and collaborate with. These are letter boxes to hold a short stack of capability brochures, fastened with a sexy leather strap and customized (handmade) button to match. Paper, bookcloth and embellishments were bought at The Paper Source. Thanks for the work Anna!

Tiffany Book

I found this beautiful tiffany bag, ripped it apart and covered a book with it. This stuff feels really delicious in your hands. This book was first coptic stitched to itself (no cover) then the spine glued in stages and then covered with more paper. It's flexible but stiffer than your traditional coptic. Love, love love it!

Crafty Day

Dear Friends,

I am opening up my home studio to teaching workshops and classes. To make a dry run of this event(s) I'm having a casual Sunday opening where folks can come by, bring a few snacks and drinks, sit back, choose the coziest spot in my studio/house and get creative. Books, boxes, journals and calligraphy projects are the focus. Or if you just want to sit and BE with all this creative energy and absorb all the good it has to offer without moving your fingers, you're welcome to do that as well. Of course, we may ask you to turn the steaks or flip the cookie sheets as they bake in the oven.

Come enjoy yourselves in this unique space.
Yes, it'll be fun and creative, but healing as well - in more ways than one.

Calligraporn

I was thinking how wonderful it is to write colorful phrases in this graceful copperplate hand. Here's some experimental color work done with the aid of my Petal PodTM, of course.
Congratufuckinlations, or something to that effect was stuck in my head during last night's calligraphy class. It's a small class of just 4 women and we had a blast.

Fun with a Ruling Pen

I recently bought this magnificent new calligraphy tool called the Ruling Pen, made by the Pen Artisan. I love the splatter at the beginning of the A and the swift fat strokes and thin slices of ink I'm able to accomplish with this pen. You can adjust the width between the two plates with a screw, which makes the hairlines thicker or thinner, depending on what you want. It's a delicious tool that I highly recommend getting.

Green Grass

One of my favorite musicians, Tom Waits is seen here in calligraphic praise. I love his lyrics, especially this one, Green Grass. Color shifts are brought to you by my very own Petal Pod!

Almost too much to bear.

iPop Dog Magnets

I think these are pretty darling. Most of the things at the Paper Source are. But not the look on my husband's face when I come home with yet another roll full of decorative paper. At least I get to write off my addiction!

Cousin Meagan

Here's some of her work. She's off to college soon and is a budding artist with photography as a minor, which might change, you never know. These are my favorites! Love that little white dress.
Check out her blog at Forget Me Not Photography.

The Blake Wright

Blake was a student of mine at PC. His dry sense of humor comes right through to his work and it makes me smile each time. Here are some of my favorites, but if you want to see more, please go to his site at The Blake Wright and become a Facebook Fan of his page

Fucking Hilarious

More of Sada & Brendan's Wedding

These are pictures that Peter & Glo took of the wedding. I culled through and these are my favorites. It was a glorious wedding. After all the work I've done with Debra, an Emotional Intuitive and Performance Coach, this felt like a special celebration. I normally don't like parties, being in a crowd, worried about how I look... all kinds of insecurities surface when I go out. But this time was different. I was proud of myself, my family, my friends and loved the moment. My heart feels about 1 million pounds lighter. No exaggeration.

Of course, there's still a lot of work to be done. A lot of bad stuff to unearth - things that hold me to the past, hurt my body, produce shame and anger and hatred. I am just as capable of the most horrible crimes committed as anyone else. I've just turned rage in on myself to cope with my insecurities. I've been spiteful to others. And lots of other things.

That person who was Anne 3 months ago really isn't there any longer. She's changing. She's emerging. I am meeting her and healing her.
