Yamaha Paper Cat

I know none of you are too busy this holiday season to make a paper cat, right? SO I'm linking the directions here. Looks like fun, no?

My assistant, Olaf.

Here's Olaf, my studio assistant, warming up washi paper. He won't be at the Gallery Show tomorrow, but I sure will. Come by and see me!

Kate Spade

I have no idea if Kate Spade likes animals or not, but here is one of her bags lovingly wrapped around a book cover with a cat on the back and a spritely little doggie on the back. For sale at the Peachtree Battle Paper Affair.

Notepads

Ah ha! Some svelt-looking notepads. Move over stickies, I've made something better. These perfect-bound notepads will have a magnet on the back to sit on your fridge. When the paper's all out, you've got yourself a cool-looking magnet.

Lovingly covered with imported Washi paper from Binders and Washi Accents, the pages are French Paper's Poptone. These little notepads will be about $10 each at the Bobbe Gillis Gallery Spring Sale.

Pretty Bricky

A brick covered with paper is a pretty nifty thing to have on your bookmaking supply list. A brick covered with pretty paper, a handle and a layer of wax paper underneath is even better! This wrapping paper came from the Container Store and the idea from Amity! Thanks, Girl!

Butterfly Kisses

Who knew white paper could be such fun. These popup patterns are for sale as a series and I think would be worth the $11.95 if you planned on really using them - say for a book about flower species and instead of white plain paper, you used pages from a vintage botanical illustration or if it was a state flower, a typographic description of the indigenous plants there. There are endless possibilities.

So go visit the make-it-yourself-pop-up-pattern-people here.

Bedroom Type

Ah, the Elser marriage bed. These E's I found at various antique markets and they've been all alone in our room since we've owned this house, er um I should say, since we began to borrow the house. This morning I cut out our first and middle initials. It'll take me at least another 5 years to take the pins out of the wall and tape the letters down.
