My name is Anne Elser, and I'm the calligraphy teacher you've been looking for. I am dying to meet you!

PRIVATE LESSONS: If you're interested in private calligraphy lessons in Copperplate or Italic, I offer 2-hour sessions at $120.00 for each student. Other subjects you might be interested in include monogramming, envelope layout, flourishing, and more. Handouts are supplied. Your personalized lesson is conducted in my private home studio in Decatur, GA.

To reserve a lesson slot on my calendar, a non-refundable deposit of $60.00 is required.
The best time for a lesson is after breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning from 10AM to noon, or from 1-3PM. Call 404.509.9676 or e-mail me at Anne@AnneElser.com

Make sure you check out the calligraphy supply list of links and inspiration article I wrote here.

GROUP LESSONS: All year round, I teach both calligraphy and bookbinding group classes and workshops at Binders Art School in Buckhead and Spruill Center for the Arts in Dunwoody. Both are excellent locations and wonderful people to work with. My students and I have a great time together, honing our craft and discovering together how completely relaxing, centering, enchanting, and entertaining the art of writing beautiful letters can be.

If you're a bookbinder or want to be one, I also offer three delightfully fun and well-structured bookbinding classes of varying levels, each designed to build upon the knowledge gained from the experience of the previous level.

Listen to what my Bookbinding and Calligraphy students have to say and sign up for a class or contact me to book a private lesson or workshop.

2013 Anne Elser Calligraphy Envelope Styles

It's no secret that I have a six-year-old son who loves Star Wars. It's also not a secret that I enjoy the stories as much as he does. Whenever I do a new series of envelope samples, I like to use addresses that mean something. Last year I did a series using addresses of celebrities who at one time, held a NYC address.  This was quite fun - I got movie stars, authors, poets, playwrights, and painters, many of whom have long since passed.

This year is all about Star Wars. I did a little research and with the help of my other nerdy friends, I created mailing addresses for Darth Vader, Yoda, Luke, Leia and many more. When completed, the envelopes were then stitched and bound together in book form to a vintage scarf. Enjoy and Happy New Year!
